JAMMU: J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma chaired a meeting of senior party leaders at the BJP headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. J&K BJP Vice-Presidents Rajiv Charak and Rakesh Mahajan, former Mayor JMC Rajinder Sharma, Treasurer Prabhat Singh Jamwal, and other senior leaders attended the meeting.

Sat Sharma launched a sharp attack on the CM Omar led government, saying that the NC has completely abandoned the promises it made to the people during the 2024 Assembly elections and is now attempting to survive politically by diverting public attention towards emotional and non-governance issues.

"The people voted with expectations of better governance, faster development and accountable administration. Unfortunately, the NC government has chosen the path of political distractions instead of public service. Every day, new controversies are created only to hide its administrative failures," Sat Sharma said.

Sat Sharma expressed concern over the worsening condition of people living in remote and disaster-prone areas, stating that repeated incidents of cloudbursts, flash floods and other natural calamities have exposed the government's lack of preparedness. Referring to the recent cloudburst incidents that caused widespread damage in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, he said the affected families deserve immediate relief, rehabilitation and long-term preventive measures instead of routine official statements.

Sharma advised Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to remain focused on the constitutional responsibilities attached to his office and adopt a proactive style of governance rather than reacting only after crises emerge. "The office of the Chief Minister demands leadership, foresight and timely intervention. Governance cannot function through political statements and symbolic gestures alone. The people expect solutions, not excuses," he said.

Sat Sharma further said that while the NC leadership remains busy with political narratives, ordinary citizens continue to struggle with damaged infrastructure, inadequate public services, unemployment and developmental challenges. He asserted that governance should be judged by delivery on the ground rather than by political rhetoric.

Sat Sharma said that during the last twelve years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has demonstrated decisive, transparent and development-oriented leadership by implementing transformative reforms, expanding welfare schemes and ensuring time-bound execution of projects across the country.

The NC government should learn the model of responsive and result-oriented governance from the Modi Government. Public trust is earned through performance, not through diversionary politics, he added.
