SRINAGAR: Police in Kulgam have arrested 04 gamblers and seized stake money from their possession. On a specific information regarding gambling activities at Humshali Bugh, a police party led by SHO Police Station Yaripora raided the spot. On seeing the police party gamblers tried to flee but were apprehended tactfully. They have been identified as Haroon Rashid son of Abdul Rashid Malik, Liyaqat Hussain son of Mohd Hussain Malik, Saqib Ahmad Mochi Son of Reyaz Ahmad Mochi all residents of Yaripora and Jehangir Ahmad Dar son of Mohd Ahsan Dar resident of Kujjar, Frisal. Stake money of ₹80000/- & playing cards were recovered from their possession.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of gambling Act stands registered at Police Station Yaripora and investigation has been initiated. Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be strictly dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
