BUDGAM: As part of the J&K Government’s public outreach programme, Police in Budgam, under the supervision of SSP Budgam Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS, organized Thana Diwas at multiple police establishments across the district, including Police Stations Budgam, Magam, Charar-i-Shareif, and Police Posts Mouchwa, Hardpanzo, and Waterhail.

The events, chaired by jurisdictional police officers, saw participation from citizens, community leaders, traders’ federations, Auqaf committee members, brick kiln owners, Shia community members, and residents of forest areas (Doks/Behaks).

Participants raised various policing-related issues and grievances, which were heard attentively. Officers assured timely redressal of genuine concerns. Public cooperation was sought in maintaining peace, preventing crime, combating drug abuse, and identifying anti-social or anti-national elements. Community members appreciated the initiative and pledged their support to strengthen police-public relations. Police reiterated its commitment to transparent, accountable, and community-oriented policing through such outreach efforts.
