The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

Participants were encouraged to seek police assistance without hesitation and were assured of the department’s continued commitment to women’s safety and empowerment. Kupwara Police reiterated its dedication to strengthening community-oriented policing, addressing public grievances effectively, and ensuring legal awareness among all sections of society.

In Handwara, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Shri Hamid Ali-JKPS organized an awareness program on the newly introduced criminal laws at Higher Secondary School Qalamabad. The event witnessed active participation from students, social welfare workers, and local residents, aiming to enhance legal awareness within the community.

During the session, SDPO Handwara provided detailed insights into key amendments in criminal laws, emphasizing their significance in ensuring justice, security, and accountability. The program covered essential topics such as legal rights, law enforcement procedures, and measures to prevent crime, fostering a better understanding of the legal framework among attendees.

The interactive session allowed students and social welfare workers to engage in discussions, ask questions, and share their perspectives on legal issues affecting society. The SDPO encouraged community members to stay informed and work collaboratively with law enforcement agencies to uphold law and order. Local residents and school authorities appreciated the initiative, acknowledging the Handwara Police for their efforts in promoting legal literacy and community engagement.
