The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

UDHAMPUR: To promote voter awareness and encourage active participation in the electoral process, the District Election Cell Udhampur, organized a Wall Painting competition  on the  theme "Nothing like voting I vote for sure" with participation from students of various educational institutions.  Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai was the chief guest. Deputy District Election Officer, Dr. Malvika Sharma, along with officers and officials of the Election Department, staff members and students, were also present.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who showcased their creativity through impactful wall paintings, aiming to inspire citizens to exercise their right to vote.  While interacting with the students, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of voting in strengthening democracy and urged young voters to take an active role in the electoral process. She commended the students for using art as a powerful medium to spread awareness and encouraged them to continue being responsible citizens.

In the competition, APS Udhampur secured the first position, while Bhartiya College of Education and Government Degree College, Neeli Nallah, bagged the second and third positions, respectively. Additionally, Government PG Boys Degree College and Government College for Women Udhampur received consolation prizes for their commendable efforts.
