PULWAMA: Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minerals, Pulwama Police intercepted and seized multiple vehicles involved in illegal mining activities at different locations in the district.
At Main Chowk, SIDCO, a police party of Police Post Lassipora laid a naka and intercepted three dumpers bearing Registration Nos. JK13G-0576, JK13E-1911 and JK13G-9907. The vehicles were found loaded with illegally extracted sand and boulders, while the drivers failed to produce valid documents authorizing transportation of the mining material. All three dumpers along with the illegally extracted material were seized on the spot.
In another case, a police party of Police Post Newa found one JCB bearing Chassis No. RAJ3DXINC02897770 and one tractor bearing Registration No. JK18-3493 involved in illegal mining at Chewekalan near Romshi Nallah. Both vehicles were seized on the spot. In these cases, Case FIR No. 105/2026 and Case FIR No. 147/2026, under relevant provisions of law, have been registered at Police Station Litter and Police Station Pulwama respectively, and investigation has been taken up.
