SRINAGAR: Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Dr. Owais Ahmed Saturday reviewed the snow clearance and dewatering preparedness in Srinagar city during a comprehensive meeting held at the SMC Central Office, Karan Nagar. The meeting focused on creating a strategic plan for the deployment of men and machinery for snow clearance and dewatering operations across all municipal wards to ensure residents do not face inconvenience during winter.

The Commissioner emphasized the importance of prioritizing snow clearance and dewatering operations in key areas and on roads leading to essential destinations, including hospitals, ration depots, educational institutions and government offices. To further streamline snow management, Dr. Owais directed the snow monitoring committee and the 24x7 Control Room to remain fully prepared for immediate response and coordination of snow clearance efforts. “The 24x7 Control Room must be fully responsive to the public to facilitate prompt and efficient snow clearance,” the Commissioner stressed.
