RAMBAN: As part of the ongoing “Hamara Shauchalay- Hamara Bhavishya” campaign being observed from 19th November to 10th December 2025 under World Toilet Day initiatives, the District Administration Ramban today organized a comprehensive district-level awareness programme in the Conference Hall of DC Office.

The event was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan and coordinated by the Rural Development Department (RDD). The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak; ACD Sheraz Ahmed and BDO Sunil Kumar besides officials from the line departments, prominent citizens, students and local residents.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in safeguarding public health through proper sanitation practices. He appreciated the efforts of the Rural Development Department, field workers, and community members who have played a pivotal role in making Ramban an Open Defecation Free (ODF) district. He urged the people to continue maintaining sanitation standards, regularly use household toilets, and promote hygienic practices within their families and neighbourhoods.

To recognize outstanding contributions, the District Administration felicitated several employees and local residents who have worked consistently to maintain ODF status and strengthen cleanliness initiatives in their areas. Their dedication was acknowledged as a model for others to follow.

Earlier, the speakers, including departmental representatives and students, highlighted the critical role of toilets in ensuring dignity, safety, health, and a better future for families, stressing that sanitation is directly connected to disease prevention and quality of life. Students presented their views on behavioral change, the need for cleanliness at home and in public spaces and the importance of sustained community participation.
