SRINAGAR: Continuing its drive against persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Police arrested 03 persons & seized 03 vehicles in Awantipora. A Police party from Police Station Khrew headed by SHO PS Khrew have arrested 03 persons and seized three vehicles (Tippers) bearing registration numbers JK13B-8211, JK01M-5270 & JK13F-4742, involved in illegal extraction and transportation of mineral in Mandakpal Khrew.

The accused persons have been identified as Tariq Ahmad Shah son of Mohd Yaseen Shah, Mohd Ashraf Shah son of Jalal din both residents of Mandakpal and Nisar Ahmad Ahanger son of Mohd Kamal resident of Sharshali. 

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Khrew and further investigation has been initiated. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are appealed to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
