SRINAGAR: Cracking a whip on illegal mining & transportation of minerals, Police have seized 2 vehicles and arrested 2 drivers in Baramulla. A police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by SHO PS Sheeri, seized 2 vehicles (Tippers) & arrested their drivers involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals at Gantamulla. They have been identified as Ab Razak Sheikh son of Mohd Rajab & Nasar Ahmad Parray son of Mohd Yousuf, both residents of Kitchama Baramulla.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sheeri and investigation has been initiated. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are appealed to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
