SRINAGAR: The Ministry of Forest, Environment and Climate Change (FE&CC) has announced the final notification of Eco-Sensitive zone around the Overa Aru Wildlife Sanctuary in Pahalgam area. This is a significant step towards conservation and protection of endangered Wildlife, sustainable development and environmental stewardship in the region.

The Overa Aru is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna, including several endangered species. The designation of the Eco-Sensitive Zone aims to create a buffer around the sanctuary to minimize human-wildlife conflict, regulate activities that may harm the ecosystem, and promote conservation efforts.

All the stakeholders, including local communities, NGOs, and businesses, are requested to collaborate in implementing these measures effectively so that the area's natural beauty and fragile ecosystem is preserved.
