SAMBA: Nations Development Association (NDA), affiliated with My Bharat and NYKS Jammu under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, today joined the nationwide ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. The Chief Guest, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, MLA Ramgarh, planted a sapling at the office premises in Ramgarh to mark the occasion. Former BDC Darshan Singh, Tijinder Singh Former Sarpanch Abtal, Bharat Bhushan Former Sarpanch, Binder Singh, Sunil Thapa, Head Master of Government Middle School Abtal, Tilak Raj, along with other school officials, also participated in the event. 

In his address, MLA Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal hailed the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign as a noble initiative for environmental protection and a heartfelt tribute to Mother Earth. He underscored the importance of planting more saplings in both residential and office areas to enhance the city’s green cover, contributing to environmental conservation efforts and combating the adverse impacts of climate change. Dr. Manyal also encouraged the public to join the campaign and emphasized the need for proper care of the saplings, including regular watering and maintenance. 

The 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign has already resulted in the planting of over 52 crore saplings across India. This initiative was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who called on individuals and communities to contribute toward building a better planet and promoting sustainable development.
