SRINAGAR:  Police in Ganderbal have arrested 2 smugglers & seized illegally procured forest produce in the jurisdiction of PS Gund. On a specific input, a Police party of PS Gund under the supervision of SDPO Kangan, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK18C-6556 with two persons on board. They have been identified as Bashir Ahmad Raina son of Habibullah Rania resident of Ganivan Kangan, Fareed Ahmad Akhoon son of Ab Ahad Akhoon resident of Rayil Gagangir. During search, significant quantity of illegally procured forest produces popularly known as “Kuth” packed in 16 gunny bags have been seized.  They have been arrested and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 48/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Gund and investigation has been initiated.
