SRINAGAR: Police along with forest officials have seized huge quantity of illicit forest timber in Watapora area of Bandipora. Acting on a specific information, a police party of PS Bandipora along with officials of Forest department conducted a raid at a specific location at village Watapora. During search, officers were able to recover 197 wooden sleepers of Deodar and Kail measuring about 134 Cft from the said spot.

One bandsaw mill has been seized and the owner of the said bandsaw has been arrested. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Bandipora. Further investigation of the case is going on.
