KATHUA: An exclusive investor meet was organised in Basohli as part of Basohli Utsav-2026, bringing together over 70 investors from across Jammu and Kashmir to explore investment opportunities in tourism, hospitality, water sports and local enterprise.

The meet was attended by MLA Basohli Thakur Darshan Singh, Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Vikramjit Singh, Director ACB Shakti Pathak, Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma and Director Industries and Commerce Dr. Arun Manhas.

A panel discussion on “Basohli as a Tourism Destination” and “Investing in Basohli” deliberated on the region’s tourism potential, infrastructure requirements and the emerging investment opportunities. Senior officers from the district administration Kathua and District Industries Centre also interacted with the investors, addressing the queries related to regulatory procedures, financial support and project development.

The discussions highlighted Basohli’s rich cultural heritage, including its traditional Pahari miniature paintings and GI-tagged Basohli Pashmina, alongside tourism attractions such as the Purthu waterfront, popularly known as Mini Goa and Atal Setu. Hospitality, eco-tourism and adventure water sports emerged as key sectors for investment and development.

The meet provided a platform for investor–administration interaction, aimed at facilitating the investment, promoting local entrepreneurship and generating employment opportunities for youth while positioning Basohli as an emerging tourism and investment destination.
