The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

JAMMU: Bringing laurels to the university, B.Tech students from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Central University of Jammu (CUJ), have secured the first and second positions in the LeMansar RC Car Competition organized at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu. A total of ten students, participating in two teams of five members each, clinched the top two honours in the competition.

Competing against talented participants, the CUJ students demonstrated exceptional engineering skills, innovation, teamwork and problem-solving abilities by designing and building their own remote-controlled (RC) cars.

The winning team (First Position) comprised Vyom Upadhyay, Aman Sharma, Kaushal Kumar, Shubh Aryan and Sparsh Kumar. The runners-up team (Second Position) included Samkit Mishra, Akarsh, Prashant Bhandari, Sahdev Choudhary and Yashu Sherawat. All ten students belong to the Department of Computer Science & Engineering.

The RC cars were designed and assembled by the students using advanced components, including 3D-printed key parts, two Brushless DC (BLDC) motors for propulsion, two SimonK 30A Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs) for motor control, a 5200 mAh battery for power supply, and a FlySky controller for wireless operation. The successful design and performance of the vehicles reflected the students’ technical knowledge and practical engineering capabilities.

Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, congratulated both teams on their remarkable achievement and appreciated the university’s continued emphasis on innovation, experiential learning and student excellence. Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh Kumar, Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, also congratulated the students and encouraged them to continue strengthening their technical competencies and participate in more such competitive platforms in the future.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering extended its heartfelt congratulations to both teams, observing that their dedication, technical expertise and collaborative spirit reflect the growing culture of innovation, creativity and hands-on engineering at Central University of Jammu. The university expressed its pride in the achievement and wished the students continued success and many more milestones in their academic and professional journeys.
