BHADERWAH: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sunil Kumar Bhutyal today chaired a meeting to review the sanitation activities, dengue preventive measures being undertaken in the Bhaderwah town and adjoining areas.
The Health Department, Rural Development Departments as well as Municipal Committee (MC) were asked to intensify sanitation activities, fogging and dengue awareness activities in identified and vulnerable localities to prevent the spread of the disease.
The ADC instructed the Health Department to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) and all health centres across the sub-division. He also directed the Rural Development Department and Municipal Committee to conduct an extensive sanitation and fogging drive across Bhaderwah town and adjoining areas, with special focus on mosquito -prone locations.
The special drive aims to strengthen sanitation and cleanliness drive, preventive measures, eliminate mosquito breeding sites and minimise the risk of dengue transmission in affected and vulnerable localities.
The ADC further calls for conducting door-to-door awareness activities to sensitise residents about proper sanitation, dengue prevention, maintaining cleanliness in and around their homes, preventing water stagnation and identifying potential mosquito breeding sites. The concerned departments were directed to ensure effective source reduction, proper sanitation and coordinated efforts to safeguard public health.
The meeting was attended by BMO Bhaderwah Dr. Varsha Sharma, representatives of Municipal Committee Bhaderwah and officials from the Block Office Bhaderwah, among others.
