JAMMU: The School of Life Sciences at the Central University of Jammu under the patronage of Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor successfully organized its landmark alumni meet, titled "Bio-Sangam," today at the Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium. The event served as a vibrant platform for former students to reconnect with their alma mater and engage with the current academic community.
The program commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony accompanied by Saraswati Vandana. Prof. Richa Kothari, Head Department of Environmental Sciences, delivered the formal welcome address, setting a warm and nostalgic tone for the gathering. The event was graced by distinguished Guests of Honour Prof. Deepak Pathania, Prof. B.S. Bhau, and Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed who shared their insights and experiences.
Prof. Deepak Pathania remarked, "Our alumni are the torchbearers of the innovation fostered at this university. Your success in diverse fields—from biotechnology to environmental conservation—serves as a testament to the rigorous academic foundation provided by the School of Life Sciences. Prof. B.S. Bhau spoke on the importance of maintaining a lifelong connection with the alma mater.
"The 'BioSangam' is not just a reunion; it is a convergence of experience and potential," he stated. Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed highlighted the value of mentorship. He noted, "The journey of our alumni inspires our current students to strive for excellence. By sharing your professional journeys today, you provide a roadmap for the next generation of scientists and researchers at Central University of Jammu."
In his presidential remarks, Prof. Sunil Dhar, Dean of the School of Life Sciences, delivered a profound message that emphasized the enduring relationship between the institution and its graduates. He appreciated generous contributions made by Dr. Sarita Bamotra an alumna of the Department of Environmental Sciences and by the parents of Ms. Ruchika an alumna of the Centre for Molecular Biology to the Alumni Fund.
He described the alumni as the "living legacy" of the university, noting that their professional milestones are the true measure of the department's success."An institution is not merely defined by its physical infrastructure, but by the intellectual footprints its students leave across the globe," Prof. Dhar remarked. Prof. Dhar concluded by reminding the gathering that while their paths may diverge, the "academic DNA" they shared at Central University of Jammu would always keep them connected to their alma mater.
