• Directs speedy completion of projects, Calls DPRs for New OPD Block, STP and drainage plan

BARAMULLA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Syeed Fakhruddin Hamid today inspected Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla and its Associated Hospital to review healthcare facilities and the status of ongoing developmental works.

During the visit, the DC inspected key sections including the Emergency Ward, OPD, MRD Block, inpatient wards and diagnostic facilities to assess service delivery and infrastructure.

He interacted with doctors, paramedical staff and patients to obtain feedback on the functioning of medical services and issues faced by patients. The DC directed the hospital administration to maintain proper sanitation and ensure availability of essential medicines, adequate staff presence and prompt patient care.

Later, the DC chaired a review meeting with officers and executing agencies to assess the progress of ongoing works. He stressed expeditious completion of all projects within stipulated timelines.

The DC also directed the concerned departments to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for a new OPD Block, Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and a comprehensive drainage plan to strengthen healthcare infrastructure.

The meeting was attended by Principal GMC,  Dr. Majid Jahangir; Superintendent Associated Hospital, Syed Parvaiz Masoodi, Superintendenting Engineer R&B and other officers and engineers.
