UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa today chaired a review meeting with officers of the Health Department to assess progress under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and formulate strategies to accelerate efforts towards a tuberculosis-free district.

District Tuberculosis Officer Dr Anil Saloch presented the district's performance under the campaign, covering case detection, treatment outcomes, screening coverage and other key indicators, besides outlining challenges and the future action plan.

The DC directed the Health Department to expand TB testing, strengthen diagnostic facilities and ensure timely identification and treatment of patients, and called for enhanced counselling services and active involvement of frontline health workers in identifying suspected cases and ensuring treatment adherence. He also directed intensifying awareness campaigns at the grassroots level, promoting community participation and strengthening inter-departmental coordination to achieve 100% screening coverage.

The District Tuberculosis Officer was instructed to organise health camps and awareness drives across urban and rural areas to facilitate early diagnosis and treatment, and to ensure effective monitoring of the campaign and timely follow-up of patients.
