RAJOURI: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner, the District Information Centre Rajouri, in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, conducted a week long awareness campaign to promote Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiatives. The week-long campaign featured street plays and skits presented in collaboration with the Rangmanch Theatre Group.
The awareness initiative commenced from village Tandwal, followed by programmes at Higher Secondary School Kalakote and Dhangri. The artists of Rangmanch Group effectively highlighted the importance of educating girl child, gender equality and the need to eliminate gender-based discrimination.
Through engaging performances, the artists generated awareness about the government initiatives launched under the BBBP campaign. The programmes witnessed active participation from locals, students and staff, making the initiative impactful and well-received. District Information Officer coordinated and supervised the series of activities, ensuring smooth conduct of the programmes at all locations.
