ANANTNAG: In a joint operation, the Drug Control Authority Anantnag and local police conducted inspections of over 27 medical establishments in the various areas of Achabal, Uttersoo, Chittergul and Shangus. During the inspection, most of the establishments were found to be compliant, while the drug store of Ali Mohd Sheikh at Chittergul was found erring on certain front and faced action.
The team observed that all the retail establishments housed in the aforesaid areas had installed CCTV cameras and most of the chemists especially around PHC Chittergul were found to have adopted computerized billing systems for record maintenance. 05 drug samples were also lifted for analysis purposes.
The inspections, awareness was conducted and chemists were educated about Good Pharmacy Practices, medication handling, Good storage conditions and legal regulations under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
