ANANTNAG: To mobilise the aspiring entrepreneurs and enhance grassroot awareness of the flagship initiative Mission YUVA, a day long Potential Entrepreneurship Mela was held today at GMHSS, Dooru.

Organised by the Employment Department in collaboration with the District Administration, the event witnessed active participation of aspiring entrepreneurs, Self Help Group (SHG) members, unemployed youth, and representatives of various line departments.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Dooru, Parvez Rahim, who was the chief guest of the event inaugurated the program. He inspected the departmental stalls and interacted with participants, highlighting the objectives and benefits of the Mela.

SDM emphasized that such initiatives aim to bridge the gap between unemployed youth and self-employment agencies, adding that Mission YUVA seeks to promote entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihood generation at the grassroots level.

The event was hosted by the Career Counselling Officer, who outlined the key features of the programme including registration, mentorship support, financial linkages, and departmental convergence under one platform.

Assistant Director Handloom and the Employment Officer briefed the participants about SHG-related schemes, financial assistance, skill development programmes, and employment generation opportunities. Various departments established facilitation counters to provide on-the-spot counselling and registration support. The Mela concluded with a commitment to further strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem and empower youth through self-employment initiatives under Mission YUVA.
