In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family

SAMBA: Department of History of Government Degree College, Vijaypur today organised Screening of a Documentary on “Subash Chandra Bose and his Contribution towards India’s Struggle for Freedom.” The main aim of the programme, held under the guidance of the College Principal Dr. Vandana Verma, was to make students aware about the contribution of freedom fighters towards India’s struggle for freedom.

Students were made aware of the complete biography of Subash Chandra Bose through the  documentary which covered his initial days from the day when he resigned from Indian Civil Services in the year 1921 and  returned back to India to participate in India’s struggle for freedom. The major highlight of his life was the formation of the Indian National Army. His contribution and sacrifices towards the freedom movement have been immense.

The programme was held under the guidance of Principal Dr. Vandana Verma. She appreciated the efforts of the Department of History. The Programme was organized and coordinated by Dr. Radhika Rasyal (Lecturer) and Dr. Sonia Jamwal (Lecturer). Meanwhile, in a significant step towards promoting road safety awareness among students and the community, the Road Safety Club of the College organized a Pledge taking Ceremony.  The event, which aimed to encourage responsible driving and safe road practices, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty.
