• Literary Creativity and Participation Recognized; Winners of Various Competitions Felicitated

JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu concluded its month-long Hindi Month celebrations, dedicated to promoting the use of Hindi, literary appreciation, creative expression, and meaningful participation across the Institute community. The concluding ceremony witnessed the felicitation of winners and participants of various competitions organized as part of the celebrations.

The Hindi Month programme featured a range of literary and creative activities, including poetry recitation, debate, book review and discussion, and essay writing, providing participants with platforms to express their ideas, perspectives, and creativity in Hindi.

A key highlight of the celebrations was the Kavi Sammelanorganized on September 10, 2026, on the occasion of Hindi Diwas. Renowned poets Shri Shambhu Shikhar, Shri Arun Gemini, Shri Neelotpal Mrinal, Shri Rajesh Agrawal, and Ms. Manu Vaishali enthralled the audience with their distinctive compositions. Their presentations, spanning humor, satire, contemporary poetry, and human emotions, added richness and vibrancy to the celebrations.

The competitions further encouraged creative and intellectual engagement. The Poetry Recitation Competition provided participants an opportunity to showcase their poetic talent, while the Debate Competition encouraged reasoned and effective expression of ideas in Hindi. The book review and discussion enabled participants to engage with selected works of Hindi literature and share their interpretations, while the essay writing competition provided a platform for creative and reflective writing.

As part of the programme, a Hindi Workshop was also organized on September 25, 2026, focusing on the effective use of Hindi in professional and institutional communication and strengthening participants’ language skills.

During the concluding ceremony, winners and participants of the Poetry Recitation, Essay Writing, and Book Review competitions were felicitated. Prof. Shyam Narayan Lal, Chairperson, Anandam; Dr. Anuja Akhouri, Co-Chairperson, Hindi Rajbhasha Committee; and Dr. Ashish Kumar Ishar, Hindi Rajbhasha Officer, were present on the occasion and felicitated the winners.

The occasion also recognized the enthusiasm and creative contributions of the Institute community, reaffirming the role of language and literature in enriching institutional life and fostering avenues for expression, dialogue, and cultural engagement. The Hindi Month celebrations reflect IIM Jammu’s commitment to encouraging Hindi as an effective medium of communication and creative expression while providing opportunities for the Institute community to engage with literature, language, and culture.

The celebrations concluded with appreciation for the enthusiastic participation of students, faculty members, staff, and organizers, marking a meaningful culmination of a month dedicated to Hindi, creativity, and cultural participation.
