JAMMU: Reinforcing its commitment to promoting the effective use of Hindi in administrative and digital governance, the Indian Institute of Management Jammu organized a one-day online workshop on “Official Language Hindi in the Digital Age: AI, e-Office and Administrative Communication” for the faculty, officers, and staff of the Institute on 22 June 2026.
The workshop aimed to familiarize participants with the effective use of Artificial Intelligence-enabled tools, e-Office systems, and various digital platforms and applications developed by C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing) in association with the Department of Official Language, Government of India, while promoting the wider and more efficient use of Hindi in administrative functions and official communication.
The workshop was conducted by Shri Santosh Kumar, Assistant Director, Official Language Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, Hindi Teaching Scheme, Jammu, who delivered an engaging and informative session on the transformative role of Hindi in the rapidly evolving digital landscape. He elaborated on how emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, digital governance platforms, and e-Office systems are creating new opportunities for strengthening the use of Hindi in official work and administrative communication. The online workshop was graced by Dr. Anuja Akhouri, Co-Chairperson, Hindi Rajbhasha Samiti, IIM Jammu, and Dr. Ashish Isher, Rajbhasha Adhikari, IIM Jammu, along with faculty members, officers, and staff of the Institute.
During the session, Shri Santosh Kumar, Assistant Director, Official Language Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, Hindi Teaching Scheme, Jammu provided practical demonstrations and shared valuable insights on the use of AI-powered tools, Unicode-based applications, digital correspondence, and e-Office workflows in Hindi. He emphasized that the integration of technology with Rajbhasha implementation can significantly enhance efficiency, accessibility, and inclusivity in official communication. He also encouraged participants to leverage digital platforms to promote the wider use of Hindi in day-to-day administrative functions.
The workshop witnessed active participation and enthusiastic interaction from the IIM Jammu faculty, officers and staff, who engaged in discussions on best practices, challenges, and opportunities associated with the use of Hindi in a technology-driven work environment. The session served as a valuable platform for building awareness and capacity among employees while reaffirming the Institute’s commitment to advancing the objectives of the Official Language policy through innovation and digital transformation.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Pappu Kumar Yadav Administrative Officer, expressing gratitude to the resource person for sharing his expertise and guiding participants on effectively integrating Hindi with contemporary digital tools and administrative processes.
