SRINAGAR: Indian Army conducted a transformative Summer Camp, 'Hirri Horizon', at PathaHirri, Kupwara from 02 Apr to 08 Apr 2026. This pioneering initiative aimed to empower young girls from the remote areas of the district through a holistic blend of skill development, sports, recreational and adventure activities.

Enthusiastic girls from various villages and schools participated in the camp, which included diverse range of activities such as Badminton, Self-Defence (Wushu), Baking, Stitching, Tailoring and Computer classes, firing practice by NCC Cadets, plantation drive and motivational lecture by Women Officers of the Indian Army. The immersive experience was designed to foster physical fitness, mental resilience, self-confidence and social responsibility among the participants.

The efforts of Chinar Warriors were lauded by the participants, their parents and village functionaries, expressing gratitude for the initiative and requesting similar camps in the future. By investing in education and empowerment, the Indian Army continues to strengthen military civil harmony, spread awareness and extend education to remote/ border areas to foster Nation building.
