SHOPIAN: J&K Police conducted an assessment/evaluation test of 19 Police Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) presently undergoing the second phase of practical training in the district at District Training Centre (DTC) DPL Shopian.
The assessment was conducted by a panel of senior officers comprising Addl. SP Shopian, DySP DAR Shopian and Sr. PO DPO Shopian under the supervision of SSP Shopian, with the objective of evaluating the professional competence, investigative preparedness, practical knowledge and field-oriented skills of the trainees.
The evaluation covered various important aspects of policing and investigation, including intelligence briefing regarding their deployed areas, preparation of investigation memos (Fardaat), registration and investigation of cases under the NDPS Act and discussion of NDPS cases investigated by the trainees along with their shadow files.
The trainees were also assessed on their self-appraisal of work undertaken during the training, court reports prepared in cases/enquiries and complaints entrusted to them along with their disposal. A panel discussion on NDPS cases was also held as part of the evaluation process.
The assessment was aimed at providing an objective appraisal of the trainees practical capabilities, investigative approach and understanding of legal and procedural aspects of policing, while also identifying areas for further improvement.
