PULWAMA: The Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), Pulwama, today successfully concluded two batches of the Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (ESDP) under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme at the Government Degree College for Women, Pulwama.

Organised in collaboration between JKEDI and GDC (W) Pulwama at the district level, the 20-day training programme drew an enthusiastic response from students, who participated actively throughout the sessions.

Professor Sami Jan, Principal of the college, attended as the Guest of Honour. The valedictory function was also attended by Nafia Nazir, Range Officer, JKEDI South Kashmir; Raiyees Manzoor, District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Pulwama; Dr. Suraiya, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, GDC Women Pulwama and other officers concerned.

Addressing the participants, Raiyees Manzoor emphasised the transformative power of entrepreneurship. “Entrepreneurship is the path to self-reliance. The future belongs to those who embrace emerging opportunities with a positive mindset and choose to become job creators rather than job seekers,” he said.

Professor Sami Jan expressed satisfaction over the successful conduct of the programme and congratulated JKEDI for organising the 20-day training within the college. She noted that the collaboration between JKEDI and the institution had provided valuable practical exposure to students and would inspire more young women to explore entrepreneurship as a viable career path.

Nafia Nazir further motivated the participants, encouraging them to convert the skills acquired during the training into sustainable enterprises and to view entrepreneurship as an empowering career option.

The ESDP under the RAMP scheme equips aspiring entrepreneurs with essential competencies in business development, financial planning, and market awareness. Both batches recorded strong student participation and received positive feedback, reflecting the growing interest among youth in enterprise creation.

Such district-level partnerships between JKEDI and academic institutions continue to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem and expand self-employment opportunities across the region. The JKEDI team reaffirmed their commitment to providing ongoing mentorship and support to the trainees.
