KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma today chaired a meeting to review the preparedness for the celebration of six years of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) in the district. The department also deliberated to chart a comprehensive strategy for attracting maximum public participation and effective implementation of the campaign.
District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Tariq Parveaz Qazi, delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation, apprising the meeting about the objectives of the upcoming campaign, proposed activities and the roadmap for the district-level celebrations.
The DSWO informed the meeting that the dates for the National-level Event celebration are yet to be notified. He stated that the schedule would be communicated separately to all concerned as and when it is officially notified.
It was further informed that the main District-level event shall be organized at the Conference Hall New DC Office featuring live telecast of the National Level celebration. The live telecast would be organised in every government office, educational institution, health institution, Anganwadi Centre and other venues across the District.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to ensure effective coordination, meticulous arrangements and maximum participation. The meeting decided to chart a comprehensive District Action Plan and Calendar of Activities with the active involvement of the Rural Development Department (RDD), Education, Health, ICDS, Motor Vehicle Department (MVD), Revenue, Police, CRPF and other concerned departments.
The plan will encompass awareness, sensitization, community mobilization and outreach programmes across the district. The DC laid special emphasis on the active involvement of youth, spiritual, religious and community-based organizations, besides Beopar Mandal, drivers, transporters and other community stakeholders.
The concerned SDMs were directed to monitor the implementation of activities at the Sub-Divisional level and ensure effective coordination among all departments and stakeholders.
The meeting was attended by ADC, Pawan Kotwal, PO ICDS, Rishi Kumar Sharma, CPO/DSEO Kishtwar, Suresh Kumar Sharma, EO Municipal Council Kishtwar, Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal, ARTO Kishtwar, Tasleem Wani, Dy. SP Hqr, Dr. Ishan Gupta, Principal GDC Kishtwar, Lekh Raj Badyal, AD Planning RDD Kishtwar Ashraf Wani besides other officers, representatives from GDC Chatroo, GDC Paddar and concerned staff.
