JAMMU: On the solemn occasion of ShaheediDiwas, the Jammu Municipal Corporation is organizing a mega Online Poetry Competition to pay tribute to the supreme sacrifice of our national heroes, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru. Under the theme "Patriotism and Gratitude Through Poetry," the Corporation invites the citizens of Jammu to express their respect for the martyrs through the power of words.

The competition is designed to involve every generation of our city. We have created three distinct categories: Group A (Bal Veer) for children aged 3 to 8 years, Group B (Yuva Josh) for those aged 9 to 16 years, and Group C (RashtraPrerna) for participants aged 17 years and above. This initiative is a step toward keeping the spirit of patriotism alive among our youth and ensuring that the legacy of our martyrs continues to guide us.

To participate, residents must record a video of themselves reciting a poem related to the theme of ShaheediDiwas in Hindi, English, Dogri, or Urdu. The video should not exceed a duration of one minute. All entries must be uploaded between 14 March 2026 and 19 March 2026 in collaboration with "SwachhJK" on Instagram and "MD SBM" on Facebook. Participants are reminded to clearly mention their Age Category in the video caption.

The judging process will be based on a 100-mark criteria focusing on relevance to the theme, creativity, and presentation. We are also encouraging original writing by offering 10 bonus marks for self-composed poems. Additionally, public engagement is a key factor, as entries must receive at least 200 likes by 10:00 AM on 18 March 2026 to qualify for the Public Impact marks.

To reward the talent and dedication of our citizens, the Jammu Municipal Corporation will award a 1st Prize of â‚č5,000 and a 2nd Prize of â‚č3,000 in each category. We urge the people of Jammu to come forward in large numbers and join us in this tribute. Let us come together to honor the sacrifice of our martyrs. For further details, participants can visit the official website of SwachhJK.
