ANANTNAG: As a major people led initiative, a mega awareness rally under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan was held at Dooru Shahabad, drawing participation from students, youth, religious figures, ex public representatives besides members of civil society, trade union and transporter association.

The overwhelming participation of the local community members reflects a growing concern over substance abuse, necessitating people coming together to sustain the fight against it at grassroots.

Speakers on the occasion emphasized protecting the younger generation from drug addiction, stressing that the responsibility lies with all sections of society. They reiterated their commitment of providing full supporting to the administration and law enforcement agencies in realising the objective of a healthy and drug free society.

“It is our moral and civil duty to safeguard our youth and vulnerable sections of society from drugs", the participants reaffirmed in one voice, urging coordinated efforts and collective resolve to combat the issue.

As part of the programme, a signature campaign was held, encouraging participants to pledge their commitment to a drug-free society. A selfie point was set up at the venue to engage youth. Placards and posters were also displayed to promote awareness about the campaign.

The rally concluded with a call for sustained awareness campaigns and community-driven initiatives to effectively tackle substance abuse and ensure a safer future for younger generations.
