AWANTIPORA: J&K Police conducted a series of drug awareness programmes under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan at Tanch Bagh General Bus Stand, Pampore, and Police Station Khrew.

At Tanch Bagh Bus Stand, the programme was organized under the supervision of SDPO Pampore with the objective of sensitizing commuters, drivers, and the general public about the ill effects of drug abuse and its adverse impact on society. SHO Police Station Pampore, along with police personnel, conducted interactive sessions highlighting the health hazards, social consequences, and legal ramifications associated with substance abuse. Participants were also informed about the importance of seeking timely assistance and the availability of de-addiction and rehabilitation services.

In a parallel initiative, a drug awareness programme was organized at Police Station Khrew in collaboration with the Molvis of the jurisdiction. The programme was also conducted under the supervision of SDPO Pampore. During the interaction, the religious leaders were sensitized about the growing menace of drug abuse and its detrimental impact on society, particularly on the youth. They were urged to disseminate anti-drug messages through religious platforms and guide the community towards a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.

Police reiterated its commitment to continue such awareness initiatives and emphasized the importance of community participation in eradicating the drug menace. The general public and religious leaders were urged to cooperate in building a drug-free society.
