In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family

JAMMU: In a major initiative to enhance grassroots healthcare access, the People’s Hut Foundation and Dr. Lal Pathlabs (Collection Centre), Bikram Chowk, Jammu, have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deliver free diagnostic services through joint medical outreach camps. The strategic agreement was signed by Dr. Rohit Koul, Director and CEO of the People's Hut Foundation, in the presence of Mrs. Ritu Koul (Director and COO) and Mr. Vikas Koul (Chief Advisor). Representing Dr. Lal Pathlabs (CC) Bikram Chowk was Mrs. Roshni Manhas, Owner and Head of the collection center.

Executed on July 16, 2026, this landmark five-year partnership establishes a robust collaborative framework operational until 2031. The alliance is specifically structured to organize and conduct free medical camps, diagnostic screenings, and health outreach initiatives tailored for underserved and marginalized communities across the Jammu region. Highlighting the vision behind the alliance, Mr. Vikas Koul, Chief Advisor of the People's Hut Foundation, stated:"This strategic partnership establishes a formal collaborative framework aimed at organizing and conducting free medical camps, diagnostic screenings, and health outreach initiatives specifically tailored for underserved and marginalized communities across the region. Under the terms of this five-year agreement, which runs until 2031, both organizations will combine their respective strengths to deliver critical healthcare services directly to those in need."

As a premier diagnostic entity, Dr. Lal Pathlabs (CC) Bikram Chowk will anchor the technical and clinical aspects of the initiative. Speaking on the collaboration, Mrs. Roshni Manhas emphasized "As a reputed diagnostic laboratory, Dr. Lal Pathlabs (CC) Bikram Chowk will provide vital technical and professional support. This includes deploying qualified phlebotomists, lab technicians, and healthcare staff, alongside supplying necessary diagnostic equipment, consumables, and sample collection kits. We will offer essential pathological blood tests and basic diagnostic services both on-site at the camps and at our primary facility."  Complementing this diagnostic expertise, the People’s Hut Foundation—a registered Section 8 non-profit organization—will spearhead the on-ground execution, project coordination, and community mobilization. The foundation will manage beneficiary identification and registration, venue logistics, public awareness campaigns, camp documentation, and media relations to optimize community outreach.

Operating on a strictly non-financial basis, both organizations will independently absorb their respective operational costs, ensuring the alliance remains entirely dedicated to humanitarian welfare. By seamlessly bridging corporate clinical excellence with grassroots social mobilization, the partnership between the People's Hut Foundation and Dr. Lal Pathlabs (CC) Bikram Chowk is poised to create a lasting, transformative impact on public health accessibility across Jammu.
