POONCH: PM SHRI Girls High School Degwar-M Poonch today organised an educational exposure tour for students to Government ITI Surankote. The visit, conducted under the guidance of Headmaster Ranjeet Kour, was hosted under the vocational education and skill development initiative of the PM SHRI Schools Scheme. During the visit, students were given an opportunity to closely observe different training units including electrical, computer applications, tailoring, carpentry and other skill-based courses.

The exposure visit aimed to broaden the students’ perspective regarding skill-based career and to encourage them to explore diverse professional pathways beyond traditional academic streams. Such initiatives help students make informed decisions about their future education and career choices.

Speaking on the occasion, Nodal Officer of PM SHRI Scheme, Darshan Kumar stated that exposure visits and vocational awareness programmes form one of the most important components of the PM SHRI Schools initiative. He emphasized that the scheme focuses on holistic development of students by integrating academic learning with practical skills, career awareness and experiential learning opportunities. He further added that such tours help bridge the gap between classroom education and real-world skills, enabling students to become self-reliant and confident.

Headmaster Ranjeet Kour appreciated the cooperation of ITI Surankote and highlighted that the school is committed to providing quality education along with skill-oriented learning experiences to the students. She expressed hope that the visit would inspire students to pursue vocational skills and contribute positively to society.

The students expressed enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the visit and described the experience as informative and motivating. The school administration thanked ITI Surankote for their support and guidance in making the exposure tour successful.
