BARAMULLA: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan and the sustained drive against narcotic cultivation, Police in Baramulla carried out a wild cannabis (Bhung) destruction drive in the Mirgund area.

The operation was conducted by Police Post Mirgund, during which police teams identified and destroyed wild cannabis growing over approximately 07 marlas of State land surrounding the NHW Dever Crossing. The standing wild cannabis plants were uprooted, collected, and destroyed on the spot in accordance with prescribed legal and environmental procedures.

The drive was undertaken to prevent the misuse of wild cannabis by anti-social elements and to maintain a safe, drug-free environment for the local community. J&K Police remains steadfast in its commitment to the war on drugs and urges the public to cooperate by reporting any illegal cultivation of narcotic plants or drug-related activities to the nearest police establishment. Public support continues to be vital in building a drug-free society.
