HANDWARA: Police in Handwara organized an impactful Drug Awareness Programme at Boys Higher Secondary School, Qalamabad, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Qalamabad aimed at sensitizing students about the harmful effects and serious consequences of drug abuse.
During the programme, police officers interacted with the students and highlighted the physical, psychological, social and legal consequences of substance abuse. Students were encouraged to stay away from drugs, adopt healthy lifestyles, and actively contribute towards building a drug-free society.
The students were also sensitized about the importance of early reporting, peer support, positive engagement and seeking timely assistance for anyone facing substance-abuse related challenges.
Police reiterated its commitment to strengthening community participation, youth engagement with special focus on protecting the younger generation from the menace of drugs.
