SRINAGAR: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir celebrated Holi on Wednesday, bringing together faculty, staff, and students from various states in a display of cultural unity.

The event, held on the university campus, featured students and staff participating in traditional festivities. The gathering reflected the university's diverse student body and its focus on fostering a harmonious environment.

Vice Chancellor, Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai, joined the celebrations and extended his greetings to the university community. In his address, he noted that Holi serves as a bridge across regional and social boundaries, encouraging mutual respect among people of different backgrounds.

"In the cultural landscape of Kashmir, these celebrations strengthen brotherhood and peaceful coexistence," Prof Ganai said. He added that universities play a key role in national integration and cultural exchange beyond academic instruction, urging students to celebrate responsibly while honouring India’s composite traditions.

Prof Raihana Habib Kanth, Director Extension remarked that such events provide a space for students from across the country to connect and build friendships outside the classroom.

The program concluded with cultural interactions and the use of safe, dry colors, marking a successful start to the spring season on the campus. The celebration was attended by several senior faculty members, including Prof Rohitashw Kumar, Prof Amal Saxena, Prof S. A Wani, Dr. S Narayan, Yogesh Pandey and Dr. Amit Khokhar.
