SRINAGAR: The Social Welfare Department (SWD), SANKALP-HEW Srinagar, organised an awareness session on “Safe and Dignified Breastfeeding” at the CDPO Office, Eidgah Srinagar.

The session focused on creating awareness among participants about the importance of safe, healthy and dignified breastfeeding practices. The programme highlighted the significance of breastfeeding for the health and well-being of both mothers and infants, while also emphasising the need for a supportive and respectful environment for breastfeeding mothers.

A resource person from the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Office Srinagar participated in the programme and shared valuable information on proper breastfeeding practices, maternal and infant health, hygiene, nutrition and the importance of seeking timely medical guidance.

The session also provided an opportunity for participants to discuss concerns and seek clarification on various aspects related to breastfeeding and maternal and child health. The SWD Srinagar reaffirmed its commitment to promoting awareness and ensuring the health, dignity and well-being of women and children through such community-oriented programmes.
