JAMMU: The Department of Commerce at the University of Jammu, in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), inaugurated a two-day workshop on “Business Simulation and Start-Up Ecosystem”. Organized under the Entrepreneurship and New Ventures course, in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP), the workshop offered students valuable practical exposure to real-world business environments and startup ecosystems.

The sessions were led by experts Mr. Veer Pratap Singh Slathia, Mr. Ashraf Choudhary, Dr. Amit Sharma, and Dr. Sameer Bhat from JKEDI, who provided insights into business fundamentals, startup management, and the support systems available to aspiring entrepreneurs. The workshop emphasized experiential learning through simulations, decision-making exercises, and problem-solving activities, helping to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

Prof. Jeevan Jyoti, Head of the Department, appreciated the initiative, stating that such collaborations are vital for nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset among students. She emphasized that integrating practical training with academic learning equips students with the skills and confidence needed to venture into the startup ecosystem. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Harleen Kaur. The Department reaffirmed its commitment to fostering innovation, skill development, and entrepreneurship in alignment with national educational objectives.
