JAMMU: Government College for Women Gandhinagar today organised a dance competition on the theme "Dance for Democracy- Every Step Counts". The event was organised as a part of the ongoing SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation) activities under the Electoral Literacy Club, aiming to promote voter awareness and participation, especially among youth.

As many as 15 students participated actively in this event conveying a message of democracy and civic responsibility through their performances. In group dance category Muskan Gupta, Arya Sharma, Mehak Gupta and Bhoomi Sharma secured first position while Arya and Mehak bagged second position and in solo category, Nabhya and Suhana Sharma secured first and second position respectively.

The event was judged by Prof. Archana Bakshi, Head, Department of English and Dr. Rippy Bawa, Assistant Professor of English who lauded the creativity and effort of the students in using dance to express important democratic values.
