JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu successfully concluded the five-day Leadership Development Programme (LDP) for Young Managers (Batch–III) of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) with a valedictory ceremony held at the Bharat Classroom, Jagti Campus. The programme, conducted from 3–7 August 2026, was designed to equip young managers with contemporary leadership capabilities, strategic thinking, managerial effectiveness, and emerging business perspectives through an immersive learning experience. The valedictory ceremony was presided over by Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy, IIM Jammu in presence of Programme Directors, Dr. Sakthi Nagaraj T; Dr. Harsha Jariwala and Dr. Parvathy.B.
The valedictory ceremony commenced with the valedictory address and programme report by Dr. Sakthi Nagaraj T., Programme Director, IIM Jammu, who presented a brief overview of the programme, highlighting the key outcomes across Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III. He expressed satisfaction with the quality of the participants' project outcomes and appreciated the enthusiastic engagement of the SAIL executives throughout the programme.
Addressing the participants, Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy, IIM Jammu, congratulated them on the successful completion of the programme and emphasized that learning is a continuous journey, whose true value lies in its effective application. He encouraged the participants to translate the knowledge and insights gained during the programme into meaningful organizational outcomes and become ambassadors of IIM Jammu by upholding the values of excellence and lifelong learning. Stressing the importance of visibility and impact, he remarked that success is driven by action and encouraged the participants to remain receptive to new ideas, continuously learn, and contribute towards innovation and organizational growth in their respective workplaces.
During the participants' reflection session, the SAIL executives shared their enriching experiences and appreciated the comprehensive learning opportunities offered throughout the programme. They highlighted that the three-phase programme enhanced their understanding of organizational practices across various SAIL units while providing valuable insights into conflict management, team management, effective communication, financial management, and operational excellence.
Participants particularly appreciated the hands-on sessions on Artificial Intelligence, noting that the practical exposure to AI tools, dashboard creation, predictive analytics, and real-time data applications would enable them to implement innovative solutions and improve workplace efficiency upon returning to their respective units. They also lauded the excellent academic environment and warm hospitality extended by IIM Jammu, expressing confidence that the knowledge and experiences gained during the programme would significantly contribute to their professional growth and leadership journey.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Parvathy B., Programme Director, expressing gratitude to the leadership of SAIL and IIM Jammu, the participants, faculty members, resource persons, and organizing team for their valuable contributions towards the successful conduct of the programme. The ceremony concluded with the rendition of the National Song and the National Anthem.
The successful completion of the Leadership Development Programme once again reflects IIM Jammu's unwavering commitment to fostering leadership excellence through impactful executive education initiatives.
