JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu commenced a five-day Management Immersion Programme for MBA students of IILM University, Gurugram, scheduled from September 7 to 11, 2026, providing participants with an opportunity to experience the academic environment, pedagogy, institutional ecosystem, and learning resources of IIM Jammu. The training program consisted of 65 MBA students from IILM University.
The inaugural programme was presided over by Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu, in the presence of Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy (EE&C), IIM Jammu, Dr. Ashish Kumar, Program Director, Dr. Sarbjit Singh, Program Director, and Dr. Satish Kumar and Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Faculty Members, IILM University, Gurugram.Dr. Garima Saini is also the Program Director for this training programme.
Speaking to the participants, Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu, emphasised the importance of active participation, knowledge sharing, and co-creation of knowledge, encouraging students to contribute their insights and engage meaningfully in classroom discussions. He urged them to make the most of the five-day immersion by interacting with faculty and students, asking questions, and learning beyond the classroom.
Highlighting. IIM Jammu’s academic resources, he encouraged the participants to make extensive use of the Nalanda Library and campus facilities to experience the distinctive learning environment of an IIM. He also shared an overview of IIM Jammu@10, highlighting the Institute’s rapid growth over the past decade and its international accreditations, which further strengthen its academic standing and global engagement.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy (EE&C), IIM Jammu, highlighted the role of EE&C as a bridge between industry and academia and provided an overview of its diverse programmes and initiatives. Emphasising that management education is about embracing diversity and change, he encouraged participants to make the most of the programme and recognise time as their most valuable investment. He urged them to actively participate, ask questions, engage in meaningful interactions, and ensure that their time at IIM Jammu translates into valuable learning and lasting insights.
The inaugural session commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a welcome address and an overview of the programme by Dr. Ashish Kumar, Program Director. He provided participants with an overview of the five-day immersion programme and highlighted its focus on equipping students with a comprehensive set of knowledge, perspectives, and practical tools relevant to contemporary management challenges. He encouraged the participants to make the most of the programme, interact with IIM Jammu faculty and students, and actively engage throughout the five days.
The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Sarbjit Singh, Program Director, followed by the National Song and National Anthem.The inaugural programme also included an academic block tour, group photograph, and high tea, providing the participants an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the campus and interact informally with the programme coordinators and faculty members.
The five-day Management Immersion Programme will provide the MBA students from IILM University with exposure to the academic ecosystem of IIM Jammu through classroom engagements, interactions with faculty and students, and experiential learning opportunities. The programme is designed to encourage participants to broaden their perspectives, deepen their understanding of management concepts, and develop practical approaches to contemporary managerial challenges.
