JAMMU: Crime Branch (CB) has registered an FIR against Mumbai-based property dealer for duping Jammu’s private Engineer of Rs. 88.50 Lakhs on the pretext of providing 3BHK flat at Mumbai and started in-depth investigation.
A written complaint was received in Crime Branch wherein the complainant namely Er. Bonish Behal S/o Shri Shakti Kumar Behal R/o Dogra Bhawan, old Janipur, Jammu alleged that Ashish Dinesh Kumar Shah S/o Shri Dinesh Kumar Shah R/o 2102 Neminath Avenue Tapsya CHS Ltd. SVP Nagar Plot No. 21 Mhada, Mhada Layout Versova Andheri West, Mumbai cheated him on the pretext of allotment of flat in Mumbai.
The complainant met accused at Madheweshwar temple located in SV Nagar, Bungalows, Mhada, Andheri West Mumbai who identified himself as an investor and builder who provides flat/plots at discounted rate because of his strong and deep-rooted relations with all the builders Pan Mumbai. In March 2023, the accused showed some pictures to the complainant of under-construction building. The complainant transferred an amount of Rs. 88.50 Lakhs through online/cheques/cash modes on different dates in the account of the accused. Thereafter, the complainant approached the accused for providing flat but the accused used delay tactics and neither provided the flat nor did he return the amount.
Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Jammu, Benam Tosh confirmed that case FIR No. 05/2025 has been registered at Police station EOW, CBJ and in-depth investigation has been started. The SSP has advised the people to make payments only after getting authentic and genuine documents pertaining to any property situated in or outside J&K and after verifying the credibility and credentials of the property dealers/sellers.
