SHOPIAN: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today held a meeting with Principal GMC Anantnag, Prof (Dr.) Rukhsana Najeeb in order to discuss issues related to the establishment of Nursing College Shopian. The meeting deliberated on key issues confronting the onset of normal academic activities post University and Nursing Council recognition in view of available resources.
Adequate availability of land, asset and manpower creation as per the University and Nursing Council norms was deliberated minutely and future course was sorted out for the early but effective operation of the college. The officers apprised that the existing space allotted to the Nursing College Shopian at an already established Nursing School is inadequate for such a big institution. The area has also congested access and parking issues.
The need to project the demand for the construction of the college at a more spacious space to be provided by District Administration was emphasised on the occasion, while simultaneously initiating the process for the operation of classes for B.Sc Nursing. The meeting was also attended by officers of District Administration including ACR, CMO, CPO, DIO and officers of GMC including CAO, ADP/ AO, Coordinator, Nursing College.
