SAMBA: An Electrician Skill Training Centre was inaugurated today at Panchayat Ghar Sarain, Nud, Samba, under a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Sun Pharma, implemented by ELFA International. The initiative aims to empower local youth by providing practical, job-oriented electrical skills in line with current industry requirements.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Ayushi Sudan, Deputy Commissioner Samba, who highlighted the crucial role of skill development in creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for young people. She appreciated the initiative for its strong focus on employability and for encouraging self-reliance among the youth of the district.
Nawab Mehran Khana, CEO of ELFA International, Mr. Ajay Bharti, ACR Samba, Tehsildar, and representatives from Sun Pharma were also present on the occasion, along with other local officials, community representatives, and beneficiaries. The dignitaries lauded the efforts of Sun Pharma and ELFA International in launching the skill development programme, terming it a significant step towards youth employment and economic self-sufficiency.
Under this initiative, 50 youth will undergo a three-month intensive electrician training programme, which will include both theoretical instruction and hands-on practical exposure. Upon successful completion of the training, the participants will be awarded a diploma/certificate, enhancing their prospects for employment in the electrical sector as well as opportunities for self-employment.
Representatives from Sun Pharma and ELFA International stated that the programme has been designed to bridge the existing skill gap and prepare trained electricians capable of meeting market demands. The training centre is expected to play a vital role in strengthening vocational skills and improving job prospects for the local youth. The event marked a meaningful step towards skill empowerment, inclusive development and sustainable livelihood generation in the district.
