BURZHAMA: Phaag Forum launches campaign for 'SIMPLE MARRIAGE' today at Burzhama (Hazratbal) to make marriage an easy and simple affair. The function began by Quran recitation by Moulana Abdul Rehman Sahab. Dr G M Rather shed light on the concept of easy Nikah as per “sunnat”. “Muslims must avoid Un-Islamic social practices in marriages,” he said.
Parviez Ahmad Dar spoke on the topic “Social Media and the Reformation”. She explained that some social evil practices are spoiling our society. “We need to end those practices,” he said. While speaking onbthe occasion Jassim Muzafar said “It is the duty of every person to know what is ‘Haram and what is Halal’ in the light of Quran. Every Muslim man and woman must know what are the rights, duties and obligations under the marriage contract,”
Ghulam Jeelani Sir spoke about the youth’s role in “Simple marriage ”. He said that youths are the wealth of any nation. Any change can only be brought about through the youth. “In respect of marriage, the Muslim youths who can play a crucial role to end Un-Islamic practices like dowry, monetary demands, singing dancing and other evil practices during the marriage.”
Farooq Shabnum Sahab said “It is the need of the hour for Muslim boys and girls to lead life according to the teachings of Quran and sunnat. We must stay away from involvement in ‘affairs’ through social media,”
At the conclusion of the maat, Peer Bilal said, The Simple Marriage Initiative is a commendable effort by Phaag Forum members to simplify the marriage process, making it more accessible and easier for couples to tie the knot. This initiative aims to promote the well-being and happiness of couples, while also fostering a more inclusive and supportive community. Shabir Gulshian, M Y Dar, Rashid Mama, Tariq Wani, Parviez Ahmad, Kaisar Ahmad, Ab Gani Hajam and others provided valuable suggestions to make simple marriage initiative implemented in the Phaag area.
