JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu, with the support of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), has initiated the second batch of its five-day Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) titled “Nurturing Young Entrepreneurs” at Government Maulana Azad Memorial (M.A.M.) College, Jammu. The program is being conducted from 9th to 13th March 2026 and aims to cultivate entrepreneurial thinking, innovation, and startup awareness among college students, encouraging them to explore entrepreneurship as a viable career pathway.

The programme has drawn enthusiastic participation from students representing several academic institutions across the region, including

- Government Degree College Batote

- Government Degree College Ramgarh

- Government Degree College Nagrota

- Government Degree College Sidhra

- Government Degree College Vijaypur and

- School of Social Sciences, Cluster University of Jammu,

along with students from the host institution Government M.A.M. College, Jammu.

Over the course of five days, participants will engage in a series of expert-led sessions, interactive discussions, and experiential learning activities designed to provide a strong foundation in entrepreneurship and innovation. The programme will cover key themes including ideation basics, evaluating and refining startup ideas, innovation through information technology, building brands through social media strategies, understanding financial fundamentals that drive venture growth, leveraging Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for business development, and applying design thinking methodologies to develop viable business solutions.

The programme will culminate in a final idea pitching session, where participants will present their innovative concepts and entrepreneurial ideas. This platform will enable students to apply the knowledge gained during the programme while receiving constructive feedback from experts and mentors.

The initiative is being conducted under the guidance of Prof. Pranab Ranjan Das, Chairperson – Centre for Small Business Development, IIM Jammu; Dr. Muqbil Burhan, Chairperson – Centre for Entrepreneurship Innovation & Skill Development, IIM Jammu; and Dr. Vivek Sharma, Chief Innovation Officer, IIM Jammu.

The programme is being coordinated by the incubation team of IIM Jammu, comprising Mr. Kannav Padha, Manager Incubation - (DST iTBI, IIM  Jammu), Ms. Druvi Sharma - Deputy Manager (DST iTBI, IIM Jammu), and Ms. Anjali Goswami, - Assistant Manager (DST iTBI, IIM Jammu).

Through initiatives such as this Entrepreneurship Development Program, IIM Jammu continues to play a pivotal role in advancing the regional innovation and startup ecosystem by promoting meaningful collaboration between academia, industry, and aspiring entrepreneurs. The program is designed to equip students with the entrepreneurial mindset, practical knowledge, and confidence required to transform innovative ideas into sustainable ventures, while contributing to the broader vision of developing innovation-driven economic growth and self-reliance among youth.
