JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu witnessed the grand beginning of its flagship cultural festival, Empyrean 2026, on 06th March 2026 at its Jagti Campus. The much-awaited festival marks an extraordinary celebration of music, dance, fashion, and artistic expression, bringing together students and performers from across the country and setting the stage for two days of vibrant cultural festivities.
The celebrations of Empyrean 2026 commenced with a star-studded lineup, featuring electrifying performances and vibrant cultural showcases at the IIM Jammu Jagti Campus. On 06th March 2026, Empyrean 2026 commenced with an electrifying performance by the Last Minute India Band, which energized the audience and set a vibrant tone for the festival.
The musical momentum continued with a high-energy set by DJ Parisha, whose pulsating beats and engaging performance further amplified the festive atmosphere on campus. The excitement will continue on 07th March 2026 with a spectacular performance by celebrated playback singer and music composer Gajendra Verma, widely known for his soulful voice and popular hits such as Mann Mera, Tera Ghata, and Emptiness, which have captivated millions of listeners across the country. The night will further culminate with an electrifying set by DJ Young & Broke, promising an energetic musical finale to the festival.
Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, stated that Empyrean 2026 reflects the vibrant spirit, creativity, and youthful energy of the student community. He noted that the cultural extravaganza lined up for the festival brings together music, art, and performances on one platform, creating an atmosphere of celebration and expression on campus. He further emphasized that IIM Jammu remains committed to the holistic development of its students, and initiatives like Empyrean provide an inspiring platform that nurtures creativity, collaboration, and cultural vibrancy within the Institute.
Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu, emphasized that Empyrean serves as a dynamic platform for students to engage beyond academics, enabling them to explore diverse talents, build leadership capabilities, and celebrate cultural diversity while strengthening the spirit of community.
Prof. Nitin Upadhyay, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu, noted that Empyrean provides an inspiring platform where creativity meets innovation, offering students the opportunity to showcase their talents while creating memorable experiences that enrich campus life.
Dr. Ashish Kumar, Chairperson Student Affairs, IIM Jammu, highlighted the enthusiasm and leadership demonstrated by the students in organizing the festival. He noted that Empyrean reflects the vibrant spirit of the student community at IIM Jammu and provides an excellent platform for students to showcase their creativity, teamwork, and organizational capabilities while engaging with a wider cultural community.
The event was formally inaugurated with a lamp lighting ceremony in the morning hours presided over by Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty and Research, in the presence of Dr. Harsha Jariwala, Co-Chairperson, Student Affairs, IIM Jammu, Shri Rajesh Parihar, Regional Head Sales-Institutional Relationships, Institutional Banking Group in the presence of other ICICI officials.
The event is powered by IIM Jammu with support from Union Bank of India, State Bank of India (SBI), Central Bank of India, Canara Bank, ICICI Bank, J& K Bank, J &K Tourism, The Grandstand, Coca-cola, White House Hotel, Katra, and Zencabs. Their valued support has played an important role in enabling the successful organization of this grand celebration.
Empyrean 2026 places students at the heart of the celebration, providing them with a vibrant platform to showcase their creativity, talent, leadership, and competitive spirit. Students from IIM Jammu and institutions across the country are actively participating in a diverse range of cultural, creative, and academic competitions.The festival features singing and dance competitions, poetry performances, nuked natak, art arena, E-sports, street battles in dance and rap, an award function, a fashion show, and Bandish, enabling students to express themselves through music, performance, and artistic storytelling.
Alongside cultural showcases, students are also leading and participating in a series of club-driven academic and creative competitions, including Verse to Voice by the Matrix Club, Hire or Fire by the People Management Club, Logo Redesign Challenge by Vipran, Consulenza, Art Hive 3.0 by the Arles Club, The Public Booth by the ATH Club, StockGro by the Nidhi Club, OPS Bee 3.0 by the Escon Club, Imaginative 3.0 by the ProdMan Club, Vitran 2.0 by the Fin Analytics Club, SellStorm by Neelam, Wall of Culture by Dharohar, Drama Verse by the Darpan Club, and Frameshit by the Drishti Club.Through these diverse activities, Empyrean 2026 highlights the energy, innovation, and collaborative spirit of the student community, transforming the campus into a lively hub of learning, creativity, and cultural expression.
The entire event is being coordinated by student body at IIM Jammu along with the Office of Student Affairs and CAO office. As part of the lead-up to the festival, students organized flash mobs across several locations in Jammu city, generating enthusiasm and engagement among the public. As the countdown begins, excitement continues to build for Empyrean 2026, where culture, passion, and entertainment will come together to create an unforgettable celebration at IIM Jammu.
