JAMMU: Jammu Municipal Corporation today organized a Public Samvaad here at Marble Market Trikuta Nagar to encourage citizens participation in development. The event encouraged public participation in developmental activities for effective implementation of the government schemes.
The event was attended by MLA Jammu South, S. Narinder Singh Raina, MLA Bahu, Vikram Singh Randhawa, Commissioner, JMC, Dr. Devansh Yadav, who actively engaged with the public to address their grievances and suggestions. Several prominent citizens including ex Deputy Mayor Jammu, Baldev Singh Billowria, ex Corporators, Swachhata Champions, Ambassadors, and members of the civil society participated in the interactive session.
The Samvaad included discussion on urban development and civic issues like restructuring of nallas to overcome water logging problem during rain season, preparation of Ward Development Work Plans regarding drainage, augmentation of street lighting, maintenance of public Roads & Parks, resolving water supply issues and enhancement of essential urban amenities.
The Commissioner emphasized the importance of public feedback so that budgetary provisions for essential projects be kept in the upcoming budget of 2025. He assured that issues of public importance like drainage, lane drain construction and sanitation shall be taken on priority.
The event emphasized collaborative governance, allowing citizens to voice their concerns directly to the authorities. The Commissioner reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring improved urban infrastructure, better public services, and active public participation in the city's development. Among others, senior officers of JMC and a large number of locals attended the Public Samvaad.
